Doing Good, Well: Aid strategy and financing

Rachel Glennerster in conversation with Romilly Greenhill

Billions are spent on aid every year. Over the past five decades, countries in the global North have transferred more than $1 trillion in development-related aid to Africa alone. This event will discuss how aid can deliver sustainable economic growth and poverty reduction, without trapping nations in cycles of aid-dependency and corruption. We will explore the innovations in the field of aid financing – from microfinancing to private sector initiatives – and consider the challenges and opportunities that these innovations entail.
