Defending Human Rights from the Front Lines

Screening and Q&A with Anna Neistat And Ole Solvang

An award-winning documentary screening, a conversation with two world-renowned human rights lawyers moderated by a New York Times journalist, and a drinks reception all in one night; a suitably fascinating and marvellous way to conclude OxFID2020.

Anna Neistat and Ole Solvang have spent over 10 years documenting violations of international law in armed conflict situations. The documentary, E-Team, follows them as a part of Human Rights Watch’s Emergency Team, investigating atrocities in Syria and Libya and bringing them to the attention of media and governments.

The screening will be followed by a conversation and a Q&A with Ms Neistat and Mr Solvang, chaired by David Kirkpatrick, acclaimed international correspondent at the New York Times with experience reporting on conflicts in the Middle East.

Following the discussion, all participants are invited to mingle and network with the speakers and attendees of the conference over drinks and canapés.
