UNDP Panel on Development and Innovation

There appears to be an increasing breakdown in the social contract between governments, institutions and communities. This is manifested by a rise in protests and unrest around the world. Rebalancing this social contract requires new approaches to development. This begs the question, ’What is at the heart of disenfranchisement of institutions in society and can international development support rebalancing human development ideals?’. Chaired by a UNDP professional, this panel will aim to answer this question by offering a more intergenerational approach to the topic at hand, with ideas offered by Masters and Doctoral students from the University of Edinburgh, the University of Oxford, and UCL.
